By breaking down the processes into small steps and encouraging us to practice these techniques under you supervision, we have gained confidence and increased our knowledge base significantly. We found this far more effective than learning just the theory. In a large class it is impossible for the tutor to check our understanding of techniques demonstrated. It is also hard to see what the item looks like up close, so when you stopped at each stage to show us how the work had progressed, you solidified our learning, checking that we have understood the process properly.
